Application Timeline

Those employed within the Telluride R-1 School District

  • Wednesday, January 10, 5:30 p.m., Town Hall
    Mandatory Open House for all employees within Telluride R-1 School District interested in purchasing. Please email housing@mtnvillage.org if you are unable to attend the Open House.
  • Wednesday, January 10 through Wednesday, January 31
    Window for employees within Telluride R-1 School District to complete the Pre-Qualification Application Process.
    All interested buyers must first attend the mandatory Open House listed and then schedule a 10-minute meeting with the MVHA during this time frame to submit complete Pre-Qualification Application. A scheduling link and Pre-Qualification Application will be provided to those who attend the open house.
  • Wednesday, January 31
    Pre-Qualification Application deadline for those Group 5-those employed within Telluride R-1 School District
  • Wednesday, February 7 at 5:30 p.m.
    Group 5 weighted lottery for those employed within the Telluride R-1 School District. Please note, lottery details will be shared at the Open House on January 10.
  • Wednesday, February 7 through Friday, February 16:
    Formal Qualification Application process for those selected in the February 7 weighted lottery.
  • Friday, February 16, 5 p.m.
    Formal Qualification Application deadline for those selected in the February 7 weighted lottery.

Those employed within the Town of Mountain Village

  • Tuesday, October 3, 5:30 p.m., Town Hall
    Mandatory Open House for all employees within Mountain Village interested in purchasing. Please email housing@mtnvillage.org if you are unable to attend the Open House.
  • Tuesday, October 3 through Tuesday, October 31
    Window for employees within Mountain Village to complete the Pre-Qualification Application Process.
    All interested buyers must first attend the mandatory Open House listed and then schedule a 10-minute meeting with the MVHA during this time frame to submit complete Pre-Qualification Application.   • Tuesday, October 31
    Pre-Qualification Application deadline for those employed within Mountain Village.
  • Tuesday, November 7 at 5 p.m.
    Unit lottery for employees within Mountain Village. Please note, lottery details will be shared at the Open House on October 3.
  • Tuesday, November 7 through Friday, November 17:
    Formal Qualification Application process for those selected in the November 7 lottery.
  • Friday, November 17, 5 p.m.
    Formal Qualification Application deadline for those selected in the lottery.

Timeline for Town of Mountain Village Employees

  • Monday, August 14 through Monday, August 28
    Window for Town of Mountain Village Employees to complete the Pre-Qualification Application Process. All interested staff must email housing@mtnvillage.org to schedule a meeting with the MVHA.
  • Monday, August 14, 3–5 p.m., Town Hall
    Required staff Open House for all interested purchasers (all staff will be notified of meeting details internally).
  • Monday, August 28
    Town staff Pre-Qualification Applications deadline.
  • Wednesday, August 30 at 10 a.m.
    Points system results shared internally with Town staff.
  • Thursday, August 31 at 5 p.m.
    Town staff Unit Selection/Reservation Agreement Meeting. Participants will select units, sign Reservation Agreements and be invited to begin the Formal Qualification Application process. 
  • Friday, September 1 through Friday, September 15
    Staff who have signed reservation agreements will assemble and submit the requirements for the Formal Qualification Application process.
  • Friday, September 15
    Staff Formal Qualification Application deadline. 

Timeline for Essential Organizations

  • Monday, August 14 through Wednesday, August 30
    Outreach to essential organizations to solicit interest in purchasing units. Essential organizations to inform the Town of Mountain Village of the type(s) of units they are interested in purchasing. This can be done via email to housing@mtnvillage.org.
  • Thursday, August 31 through Tuesday, September 5
    Town staff to prioritize unit selection by order in which essential organizations communicated interest to the Town. 
  • Wednesday, September 6
    Essential organization Unit Selection Meeting. Organizations will select units and sign Reservation Agreements in the order by which the pre-application applications were received prior to the September 5 deadline. A priority fee is due with the execution of the Reservation Agreement. Please email housing@mtnvillage.org for fee information.  If organizations are interested in the same unit, they will select a 1–10 playing card from a hat to allocate the units.  Within 60 days after The Town approves the formal application, the Purchase and Sale Agreement needs to be executed with 10% of the maximum sales price that will be held in escrow with the title company until closing.

Essential Workers Timeline

  • Wednesday, August 30 through Monday, September 18
    Window for Essential Workers to complete the Pre-Qualification Application Process. All interested must schedule a 15-minute mandatory meeting with the MVHA. Email housing@mtnvillage.org to schedule a meeting with the MVHA.
  • Wednesday, August 30, 5 p.m., Mountain Village Town Hall
    Required Essential Worker Open House for all interested purchasers.
  • Monday, September 18
    Essential Worker Pre-Qualification Application deadline.
  • Wednesday, September 20
  • Points system shared with participating essential workers.
  • Thursday, September 21, 5 p.m. Mountain Village Town Hall
    Essential Worker Unit Selection/Reservation Agreement Meeting. Participants will select units, sign Reservation Agreements and be invited to begin the Formal Qualification Application process. 
  • September 21 through Monday, October 2
    Essential Workers who have signed Reservation Agreements will assemble and submit the requirements for the Formal Qualification Application process.
  • Monday, October 2
    Essential Workers Formal Qualification Application deadline. 
  • Within 60 days after The Town approves the formal application, the Purchase and Sale Agreement needs to be executed with the companion $9,500 balance ($500 from the reservation agreement is included for a total of $10,000 of earnest money) that will be held in escrow with the title company until closing.
